FRED NEWHART MIDDLE SCHOOL

Newhart Families:

 

On behalf of the Newhart Middle School team, I would like to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year.  I am extremely honored to join this staff and community and begin this journey as principal of Fred Newhart Middle School (FNMS). It is truly a privilege to be given this opportunity to build relationships with students, staff, and families as we work together to help mold our students into the best versions of themselves that they can be. 

 

My career in education began nearly 27 years ago.  After substitute teaching and obtaining my master’s degree, I began teaching full time at Serrano Intermediate School.  Upon earning my administrative credential, I began an 11 year tenure as an assistant principal at Rancho Santa Margarita Intermediate School.  For the past three years I have served as an assistant principal at Dana Hills High School where our mission is to connect and inspire.

 

Additionally, being a parent of 2 CUSD students affords me the unique opportunity to apply a parental lens and help other parents navigate the educational journey and I enjoy connecting with families in this capacity to better serve students.  

  

As your new principal, it is my goal and commitment to build relationships with everyone, to learn about the many great programs happening at Newhart, and to understand the culture that drives the heartbeat of the Panthers.  I am committed to Newhart’s continued success and believe there is no greater responsibility than ensuring our students have a safe, supportive, and welcoming place to learn and grow.  I look forward to serving this great community.

 

The 2025-2026 school year is going to be an amazing adventure for the Panthers and I am honored to be a part of this journey and excited to begin.  Wishing you all a relaxing and wonderful summer.
