you will not need to enroll as a
"New Student" at Newhart.
INTERDISTRICT TRANSFER
The Inter-District Transfer process applies to those parents who wish their children to attend school in a district other than their district of residence.
All Inter-District Transfer requests must be initiated in the district of residence.
Inter-District Transfers are valid for one school year only and must be renewed annually.
An approved Inter-District Transfer must be in effect between the district of residence and the school district of desired attendance before a student can attend the desired school. For more information please visit the CUSD Interdistrict Transfer Request Site

If you do not reside within Newhart Middle School's boundries, see the information below about School of Choice (SOC). Capistrano Unified School District's SOC program offers parents within the CUSD boundaries the opportunity to apply for another CUSD school that they would like their child to attend. The 2024 - 2025 Window to Apply is Now Closed for Existing CUSD Students
Students already attending a school within CUSD are existing students. The SOC window to apply for the 2024 - 2025 school year opened on January 29, 2024 and closed on March 1, 2024. It will reopen again for the 2025 - 2026 school year around February 1st, 2025.

Window to Apply for Newly Enrolled CUSD Students
Students that are new to CUSD (including students returning to CUSD after leaving for over a month), are still eligible to apply for School of Choice. Parents should enroll their student at their home school and request an SOC application form.

After your student has completed enrollment, create and login to your Aeries Parent Portal account. The Aeries Parent Portal is used for:
- Annual online summer re-registration
- Emergency contact information that can be updated at any time
- Real-time period-by-period attendance data
- Medical Information

Report cards and unofficial transcripts
Test scores including college test scores
Class schedule
Graduation status reports
