Future Panthers- Incoming 6th Grade
The 6th Grade Elective Selections for the 2026-2027 school year will be available on January 29th and will be due on February 12th.
Enrollment for the 2026-27 school year is open. Students attending Bathgate, Bergeson, Castille, Reilly, or Viejo Elementary and living within Newhart Middle School's boundaries are automatically enrolled with Newhart.

Zero Period for All Students:
Zero period is intended for students with an impacted schedule. Some students with an impacted schedule are in programs such as:
- Special Education
- English Language Development
- Math and English Support
- Dual immersion
Keep in mind:
- Zero period is a request, but not guaranteed
- Bus transportation is not available
- Zero Period Contract is required
Mandarin & Spanish Immersion & AVID students:
Your language or AVID class is your 1st choice elective and will be placed on your schedule. If you are interested in a 2nd elective, you will need to take a zero period class. Zero period is not guaranteed and transportation is not provided. Please mark zero period and select you elective choice(s). If you are not interested in a 2nd elective, please only select the "I am a MIP,TWIS or AVID student."
Elective Selection for School of Choice & Inter-District Transfer Students
During the Elective Selection window, please complete the School of Choice or Inter-district transfer application, then complete the Elective Choice Form. Once the form is completed, please email your academic advisor the student name and student ID.
